The cart page is slow (p95 840 ms) because it adds up the cart item prices on every request. This caches the total for each session.

✗ Checkout shows the wrong total price when a gift card is used. 37 checkouts so far.

Why we built Packrat

Something in my last deploy is a little off. I just don't know what yet.

Even after a decade building observability products, I'm surprised by what my code does in production: a feature that half works, a total that's slightly wrong, a page that got slow for one customer.

Now that coding agents let us deploy all day, more screws work loose than ever.

We got tired of finding them by accident, so we built something that finds them for us:

1. Start with the monitoring you have. A config update sends a copy of your agents' data to Packrat, with nothing new to install. Setup then shows you where to fill the gaps.
2. Validate every release. Check whether each release did what it was meant to do, and get a plain answer: worked, partly worked, or didn't.
3. Hand the problems back to your coding agent. Send it a self-contained report, plus tools to dig into all the telemetry Packrat keeps.

That's what we mean by self-driving. Your monitoring already sees everything. Packrat acts on it. I think it'll find your first loose screws in one afternoon.
